"So could you not watch with me one hour?"

"Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, 'Sit here while I go yonder and pray.' And taking with him Peter and the two Sons of Zebedee he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, 'My soul is very sorrowful, even to death,' remain here and watch with me.' And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, 'My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.' And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping; and he said to Peter, 'So could you not watch with me one hour?'"
Matthew 26:36-40
Jesus Christ and Catholics in Action invite you to watch with the Lord. On Friday nights, there is the opportunity for adoration of and prayer with Jesus Christ in the Most Blessed Sacrament. This is called Eucharistic Adoration.
What is Eucharistic Adoration? After the Christ's words of consecration said by the priest at Mass, the bread truly becomes Jesus Christ. This is called the Most Blessed Sacrament. Jesus is truly present and it is fitting to adore and honor him in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
During Eucharistic Adoration, we wait with our Lord. We adore him, thank him, ask for forgiveness, and ask for what we need. We talk with Jesus and develop our relationship with him.
Consider spending an hour with Jesus Christ in the Most Blessed Sacrament each week.
