"For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the right he was handed over, took bread, and after he had given thanks, broke it and said 'This is my body that is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way also the cup, after the supper saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.'"
Saint Paul, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
"Do this in remembrance of me." The Church continues to follow the words of Jesus to this day. Each time the Church celebrates the Mass, Christ's sacrifice on the Cross for our sins becomes really present. Every time, we go forward to the altar we receive the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The Holy Mass is the most powerful way that anyone can grow in relationship with God. In the Mass, we adore God. We ask for forgiveness. We thank Jesus for his gifts. We ask for what we need.
Consider adding the Friday Night Mass to your weekly schedule. Nothing could be more pleasing to God and good for your soul.
